On completion of this course participants will

  • Perform all site related contract communication duties required of a Pavement Surfacing supervisor
  • Plan and organise chipsealing construction to comply with specified requirements
  • Describe the types of seal coats and basic design processes for chipseal
  • Apply their knowledge of bitumen and chip selection to produce high quality surfacing
  • Confirm or modify original design according to actual conditions immediately prior to sealing
  • Directly supervise the physical works involved in chipseal construction

  • 8021  Demonstrate knowledge of chipseal construction plant
  • 20453  Plan and organise construction activities as a chipseal surfacing supervisor
  • 17670  Demonstrate knowledge of hot polymer-modified binders and their use in chipseal construction
  • 20454  Demonstrate knowledge of materials used in chipseal surfacing
  • 23613  Demonstrate knowledge of and plan work for chipseal surfacing construction as a foreperson.
  • 23614  Undertake foreperson duties on chipseal surfacing construction sites
