Survey and Set Out - Stage 2
Overview
Survey and set out errors can be very costly in materials, labour and reputation.
This practical course covers the skills needed to set out construction works common on NZ projects. This course suits foremen, site supervisors and project managers who require a rounded appreciation of all construction aspects.
The course covers the use of total stations, levelling and GPS equipment. Included is an understanding and manipulation of coordinates, survey calculations, company QA survey requirements and onsite survey safety.
Field exercises cover the setout of offset marking for crossfalls, grades and alignment for roads and kerbing and the positional setout of small detailed construction works for both position and level from coordinate and dimensional plans.
This course gives participants confidence in survey setout and an appreciation when further direction or support should obtained from a licensed surveyor.
