Environmental Management is becoming a major part of the contracting world.

This course will take participants through the role of the statutory bodies for Resource Management, Planning, Processes under the Act, into environmental issues for management.

Civil site-specific requirements will be covered in detail.
The daily requirements for the civil workplace under the Act, application and control will be a major part of the course.

On completion of this course participants will have the knowledge to:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation relevant to civil infrastructure worksites 
  • Describe in simple terms how health, safety, and environmental legislative requirements are met at civil infrastructure worksites
  • Describe the effect of a human activity on the environment
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the affect on the environment, of activities and practices in a specified workplace
  • Analyse the effect of a human activity on the physical environment in a specified workplace
  • Demonstrate knowledge of sustainable environmental management issues relevant to a supervisor in a specified workplace



National Qualification information:

This course will address theoretical and knowledge requirements related to the below unit standards. It will not cover assessment and practical requirements unless specifically stated under course costs.

18663 Demonstrate knowledge of and apply sustainable environmental management practices in the workplace
18664 Apply sustainable environmental management practices as a workplace supervisor
20873 Demonstrate knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation at civil infrastructure sites
