This course is designed to give people the essential knowledge of explosive atmospheres and hazardous areas, including identifying hazardous areas, sources of ignition and the properties of hazardous materials along with the roles and responsibilities of all parties, regulations, standards and codes of practice relating to hazardous areas.

Cost
There are two options to this programme;
Option one is delivered over an eight hour workshop, there is no assessment and students will be awarded an Attendance Certificate.
Cost per person $274.00
Minimum class number 14, maximum class number 20
Option two is delivered over an eight hour workshop, and contains NZQF Unit Standard 5929 – Demonstrate knowledge of hazardous areas and their electrical requirements. Students will be awarded an Attendance Certificate and have the unit standard reported to NZQA. To be awarded the unit standard students must attend the workshop and forward the completed assessment to WITT within 10 working days.
