Practical, engaging and interactive, it consists of four Modules and eight Units. These Modules/Units are offered as separate courses as well. However this bundle offers better value for money. 

Module 1- Project Management Concepts[Total 4.5 hours]

  • Unit 1.1 - Definitions and History [1.5 hours]

What you will learn: Define projects; define project management; identify between projects and operations; understand the history of project management.               

  • Unit1.2 - The benefits of project management [1.5 hours]

What you will learn: Benefits of sound project management; how these benefits impact on people and organisations; identify most significant benefits with on-line colleagues.

  • Unit 1.3 - Fundamental constraints of time, cost and scope [1.5 hours]

What you will learn: List project constraints; understand relationship between constraints; describe constraint modules; understand how to balance project constraints.

Module 2 - The Project Life Cycle[Total 2 hours]

  • Unit 2.1 - The Project Life Cycle – Define, Plan, Implement and Close [2 hours]

What you will learn: List four phases of the project life cycle; define the purpose, inputs and outputs of each phase; understand the sequence of project management activities.

Module 3 - Organisational Styles [Total 1.5 hours]

  • Unit 3.1 - Organisational styles and how they affect projects and project management [1.5 hours]

What you will learn: Identify functional, matrix and projectised organisational structures; list the impacts of each structure on project management; understand how organisational structure affects projects.

Module 4 - The Project Define Phase[Total 7 hours]                                                 

  • Unit 4.1 Defining project goals and objectives [2 hours]

What you will learn: identify the difference between project goals and objectives; list and understand the requirements for setting SMART goals and objectives; prepare SMART goals and objectives for projects

  • Unit 4.2 Stakeholder identification and analysis [3 hours]

What you will learn: identify stakeholders; analyse and define stakeholder roles and expectations; understand and prioritise stakeholder needs.

This unit is available as a separate on-line course.

  • Unit 4.3 Writing the project charter [2 hours]

What you will learn: Understand the reasons for preparing a project charter; know the purpose of the project charter; identify the key elements of a project charter; use the knowledge to prepare a project charter.
